The unique Villaret herd
Le Villaret herd of Przewalski's horses in unique in Western Europe in that it allows horses to live in conditions close to life in the wild, similar to those of Mongolia. They can there establish their typical social structure and express their natural behaviour.TAKH offers an opportunity to study and understand this behaviour, much more complex than domestic horses' one. This will be done during one week observation training supervised by an equine ethologist.
Horses live in family groups, you will therefore become familiar with equine social organisation. You will in addition discover the different activities of each family members and their ways of communication and plenty of other things!
Training organisation
Training is made of both field and indoor activities to provide a theoritical interpretation of the observations. The training also offers the opportunity to discover one of the wildest regions of Western Europe. You will see the beautiful valleys and canons, they are home of famous vulture populations. You will observe the peculiar flora and experience the local gastronomy. A typical 'bed & breakfast' close to the breeding centre will welcome you for meals and nights.
