Eleven individuals from European zoos (in England, France and Germany) were brought to Le Villaret during 1993 and 1994:

Villaret was previously used as a sheep farm: the equipment, expertise
and funds to convert it for horse breeding came from WWF France,
Languedoc-Roussillon Region, Lozère
Departement, the European Union and France through the Life program,
Parc
